一日家教小學堂又來囉今天遇到的難題是什麼呢 ? 沒錯就是如何區分四種不同意思的上升囉!

今天的課程分別是 rise raise rouse arouse，在這邊愛達老師先簡單的提一個問題

 The population of the has ______ to million people.   (A) rise (B) raise (C) Rouse (D) Arouse 

Which one is the correct answer ?  大家可以先思考一下答案是哪個 ! 在文章最後頭會再做單字解析囉 ! 

首先，介紹一下這四個單字的字義和用法囉 ! 

Rise  (n.上升) (v. 升起)   

最常見的例句有:  The sun is rising in the east.  太陽正從東邊升起

簡單來說，rise這單字後頭可以不加任何的受詞  

Raise  (n.加薪) (v. 舉起)

常見的例句 : It seems hard to raise a child. 養育兒女似乎是一件困難的事情

另外還有，在課堂上老師會常常問說 If you have any problems, please do me a favor,raise your hands.

為什麼這邊是使用raise your hands 而不是 raising your hands 呢? (祈使句用法，之後會再教給大家)

 rise & raise 區分方式  

      raise後接受詞 rise不直接使用 

Rouse (v.弄醒；被驚嚇) 

例句:  She seems to be unable to rouse herself to do anything.  她似乎無法打起精神做任何事情

 be unable to 片語 指沒有能力去做某種事情 

 Arouse (v. 喚起)  

常見的例句 :  There is nothing like a long walk to arouse appetite. 沒有任何事情能比起漫步來引起食慾

appetite 食慾  Bon apptétit 則是來自於法語 開動囉 的意思 ! ! ! 

rouse & arouse 區分方式

rouse  表"激起"，語氣比arouse強，常有積極行動的意思

arouse表"喚起"，動作意味較弱，屬於精神層面的動詞

 The population of the town has ______ to million people.  答案是 :  rise 

The population of the town has risen to millon people.      你答對了嗎  !
